The S.A.G.B. This is a device that helps with weight loss. It consists of a plastic band placed around the stomach, attached is a thin tube connected to a port that is wired to your sternum. A saline fluid is placed into the band via the port, it restricts the size of your belly allowing less food to be consumed. As the name states it is totally adjustable, fluid can be removed to allow more food intake or more fluid inserted to allow less. Surgery. As with most operations no food after midnight before the procedure. I recall my last meal, my favourite, garlic prawns! The next morning I was admitted at 7am and the first cab of the rank. 10am: I was given a pre anaesthetic and wheeled off to Surgery. I awoke 4.5 hours later and felt like I had been hit by a truck!! I wont lie it is a painful procedure. After my 10 day stay in hospital, I arrived back home. I was on a fluid diet for a further 6 weeks. I then graduated to baby food, now I know why my baby wouldn't eat it.! Over the next few years I gradually lost kilo after kilo, gaining more confidence day by day. I know wiegh a healthy 65 kilo and happily play with my Son. |
